Hall of Famer Roberto Clemente had won his first World series ring in 1960.
Unlike his first appearance, Clemente was the most dominant player on the field, with a .414 batting average in the seven games. This performance earned him MVP honors in the 1971 Fall Classic.
The 37-year-old batted .341 during the 1971 season and earned his 11th consecutive Gold Glove.
In 14 World Series games, Clemente batted .362 overall and he was elected to the Hall of Fame the year after his retirement in 1973.
